Ferrari takes ugly away from F1 with SP FFX

Ferrari SP FFX

While the world has been aghast at the latest round of Formula 1 cars to be hit with the ugly stick, Ferrari has ensured that the trickle down effect from racecar to street car is indeed real, if this picture is anything to go by.

Spotted in Japan this is a one-off creation built by Ferrari’s personalisation crew, it’s called the SP FFX and we think we’ve already seen enough.

The SP in the model name refers to the Special Projects division and FF is, of course, the model on which this car is based. As for the X, well, we’re not sure. Perhaps FFU for ugly didn’t work so well.

Ferrari FF and Lamborghini Aventador sold out

Ferrari FF

News reports suggest the first year of allocation for both the Ferrari FF and the Lamborghini Aventador have already sold out. Nice going for a couple of expensive supercars that were officially launched last week.

In the case of the Ferrari FF “sold out” translates to around 800 confirmed orders. You’d expect annual production for the Aventador to be down a little on the FF, but no claims have been made at this stage.

Ferrari FF creates online hysteria

Ferrari FF

Well, Ferrari would have us believe the four-set, four-wheel drive FF created online hysteria when it was revealed a few days ago. Check out their presser after the break.

To celebrate they have released a few new pics. Sadly only the image shown above is of any use, the rest are a disguised development model shown during winter testing. However, in silver and with studio lighting, you begin to get a broader appreciation for the curves featured on the FF; some gentle, some not so.
