In another sad addition to the “Oh the humanity” files, here are a few pictures of a Porsche Carrera GT, one of the best sounding cars ever, meeting its ultimate end.
Perhaps the only saving grace from these shots is that the last moments of this Carrera GT were spent being driven in anger at a track day on the Shanghai Grand Prix circuit.
First it was a Ferrari 599 GTB. Then a McLaren F1. More tragedy followed with a Ferrari Enzo. Now, Lamborghini has got in on the latest supercar fad—the in-car barbeque. What a sad and terrible sight the above image paints with the once gorgeous Gallardo reduced to a fried mess. Fortunately, the two occupants escaped unharmed. The incident happened in Peterborough, a short drive to the north of Cambridge.

UPDATE 14 July: In the news segment of the latest episode of Top Gear [13×04] lots of burning Gallardo examples were featured. Very sad.
Earlier this month we brought you the demise of a McLaren F1. As if one supercar going up in flames wasn’t bad enough, here is some smoking footage of a Ferrari Enzo in Canada that is sure you bring a tear to your eye.

This sorry sight is what happened after the owner took his 1995 McLaren F1 for a run after six months in storage. The car is now a total write off. If every cloud has a silver lining, this one is that the F1 was insured for US$3 million.

Yesterday’s post about the Ferrari California was the good. Well, sadly, this is the bad and the ugly all rolled into one for the owner of what used to be a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. First reported by the UK paper The Sun, the story goes the owner wasn’t even at the wheel when the towering Fiorano went up in smoke. One of the owner’s employees was driving the car when it made some sort of noise and then erupted into flames.
