Inside look at new Lamborghini Aventador TV ad

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

The chaps over at InsideLine were privileged to be invited along to the filming of a new ad piece for the brand spanking new Lamborghini Aventador. They’ve been kind enough to share some video with the world as well, which you can see after the break. Imagine mucking around on that dry lake bed with a fearsome 6.5 litre V12 and its 700hp of fury behind you. Bags not cleaning the car afterwards, though!

Lamborghini Gallardo Tricolore given early showing

Lamborghini Gallardo Tricolore

Like Ferrari, Lamborghini is paying tribute to Italy’s 150th anniversary of unifcation. Not having their own F1 team, though, Lambo has painted some Italian-flag inspired stripes on a crisp white Gallardo.

While the paint scheme is arguably one colour better than the Bicolore, revealed last month, it’s unclear at this stage what state of tune the 5.2 litre V10 engine will be. Let alone the number of wheels asked to do the driving.

We should have those answers and more next week, officially, from Lamborghini.

Ferrari FF and Lamborghini Aventador sold out

Ferrari FF

News reports suggest the first year of allocation for both the Ferrari FF and the Lamborghini Aventador have already sold out. Nice going for a couple of expensive supercars that were officially launched last week.

In the case of the Ferrari FF “sold out” translates to around 800 confirmed orders. You’d expect annual production for the Aventador to be down a little on the FF, but no claims have been made at this stage.

Geneva 2011: Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4

Lamborghini Aventador

Well, it’s official, everything we’ve read about the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 hypercar has been correct. So, a quick recap is in order before presenting you with the full press release and pictures after the break.

First, the name, in case you were wondering where Aventador originates from it was the name of a bull that earning the “Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera” for outstanding courage in Spain back in October 1993. So there you go.

Giving the mechanised Aventador its courage is a new 6.5 litre V12 snorting out 515kW (700hp) from its chiselled nostrils. The aggressive exterior design also helps. It looks fantastic, don’t you think; everything a Lambo should be.

The use of a carbon fibre monocoque, plus further use of carbon fibre materials, has helped reduce weight compared to the Murcielago. In fact, the body-in-white weighs just 229.5kg and has a torsional rigidity measured at 35000Nm.

Fitted with a new 7-speed Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) transmission the Aventador can change gears in 50 milliseconds. Which is just what you need while you’re powering away to 100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and on to a staggering 350km/h top speed. Of course, the new bull is kept on its intended path thanks to a Haldex Gen IV all-wheel drive system and new pushrod suspension.

Expect to see the Aventador on bedroom walls of 10 year-olds the world over. Just as it should be. All that’s left to do now is read over the material below and then check out the leaked ordering guide and start dreaming of your own LP 700-4.

Lambo leaks continue with new Aventador pics

Lamborghini Aventador

The leaked material on the Lamborghini Aventador continues with new shots of its interior as well as photos taken at the part-built Lambo stand from the halls of the Geneva Motor Show.

We can see that Lamborghini has taken the art of origami car manufacture to a new level. Thankfully, only Lambo can get away with madness like this. The Aventador is aggressive, frightening and stylish all at the same time. When you start thinking of its 700hp 6.5 litre V12 and the F1-inspired suspension you start to get, well, a wee bit excited at just how ballistic this car could be.

For what it’s worth we’ll have official details from Lamborghini once they’ve been released. Although, there’s not much left to tell, really.

Lamborghini Aventador makes encore appearance

Lamborghini Aventador leak

More Lamborghini Aventador shots have surfaced thanks to the magazine industry. This time the pics have been sent in to Jalopnik, and you can access slightly larger pics via Facebook.

Following this week’s earlier leak these new images have raised the bar and, really, we only need to see what the inside looks like to really ruin Lamborghini’s party. With one week to go before Geneva kicks off, who will get there first; the motoring media or Lamborghini?

Hey look, it’s the Lamborghini Aventador!

Lamborghini Aventador

Overnight Lamborghini released a further image of the carbon fibre chassis from its new V12-powered Murcielago replacement. However, the image creating all the waves is this leaked pic of the new LP 700-4, aka Aventador, which was published by Evo Magazine Croatia and sent in to WorldCarFans.

We’ll get a full, and official, look at the Aventador in a week or so at the Geneva Motor Show. After the break you can see the pics Lamborghini actually want you to see.

VIDEO: Snow white and the 700hp supercar

A couple of days ago we brought you news of some new spy shots of the Geneva-bound Lamborghini Aventador. Now we can show you this new video that’s just been posted to YouTube. It’s a bit odd in that the clip looks semi-professional, but there doesn’t appear to be any official link with Lamborghini (yet). Another quietly released leak, we suspect.

Whatever the source of the video there’s no denying, although the quality isn’t great, the sound of the new V12 is awe-inspiring. It’s not too long until we get a full reveal of the Aventador and it’s shaping up as being a great poster car for the young kids of today, much less a ripping drive for those with the cash to splash.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Bicolore

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Bicolore

This is the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Bicolore, a special edition model revealed at the Qatar Motor Show last week. It’s destined for Euro markets, as well as our very own Asia-Pacific market. North American will get the car also, but only in 560-2 rear-wheel drive only specification.

It’s essentially a regular Gallardo LP 560-4 with a fancy paint job. Featuring distinctive black detailing both inside and out, including the Noctis Black gloss roof, you can get your Bicolore in a choice of five colours: Giallo Midas, Arancio Borealis, Grigio Telesto, Bianco Monocerus and Blu Caelum. Or yellow, orange (as featured here), dark grey, white and blue.

We’ll take ours in white or dark grey thanks.

More pics and press release after the break.

Lamborghini Aventador update

Lamborghini Aventador spied

It’s time for a bit of an update on the new Lambo Murciélago successor, otherwise known as the Aventador (at least, that’s what we think it will be called). As the image above shows, the KGP Photography/Autoblog combination brings us one of the best looks yet at what the Aventador will look like. In profile view, it is looking fantastic (click here for more pics).

Ahead of the car’s world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March, Lamborghini has been drip feeding information. So far we’ve had confirmation of the 700hp V12 engine that will power the Aventador. Last week Lamborghini also revealed details about the suspension their new hyper car will feature. It’s been heavily inspired by current day Formula One thinking, as well. In fact, Lamborghini are claiming their new pushrod spring and damper concept has never been used on a production car before.

Lamborghini’s official press release and pics of the suspension can be seen after the break.
