A quartet of BMW M2 renderings

BMW M2 rendering

Now that we’ve had official pics of the BMW M235i for a couple of weeks it’s high time we started seeing renderings for the M2. And so we bring you four amateur interpretations of what the M2 could look like.

BMW hasn’t officially confirmed they will be making an M2 coupe—of course they will. For starters they’ve already trademarked the name and Dr Friedrich Nitschke, boss of M GmbH, has spoken openly about an M2 in the past: “I think the 1M Coupe proves there is room for an M2, a coupe.”

So will the M2 be powered by a detuned M4 six-cylinder turbo, or perhaps feature an A45 AMG-killing four-cylinder heart?

VIDEO: Andy Priaulx hams it up in the M235i

Andy Priaulx

Aside being forced (presumably) to treat his car like a love interest in the terribly cheesy start to this clip, we’re guessing British racing driver Andy Priaulx had fun working with BMW UK to thrash about in a new M235i for the day.

BMW X4 spied during photo shoot

BMW X4

We’ve seen the new BMW X4 in concept form and here’s your first look at the final production model, spied during a photo shoot. The pics were first published by Car and Driver who made the apparent mistake of identifying the car as a new X6.

The X4 is still some time away from its official launch as production model, due for its show debut at Geneva in March 2014.

VIDEO: A really quick look at the new BMW M3

F80 M3 spied

A production-ready BMW M3 has been caught on video during a filming shoot and while you don’t get a very long look at the F80 sedan you get a look nonetheless.

The colour is Yas Marina blue and we don’t think that means the car will get an unlikely debut at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend, instead waiting for the the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January.

Much of what you see has already been shown off in the Concept M4. Although the F82 M4 will make its production debut after the sedan.

BMW 2 Series Coupe revealed

BMW M235i

Finally the BMW 2 Series is here. We’re not going to pretend it’s the prettiest coupé we’ve ever seen, but with the revised styling on the front-end alone, it’s a great leap forward in aesthetics from the 1 Series hatch on which it is based.

If you’re itching to get yourself into a 2 Series you’ll have to cool your heels until its market launch in March 2014. The public debut of the F22 coupé will take place in Detroit next January and its Australian sales launch is scheduled for the middle of next year.

BMW has published details on five models, which we’ve listed below:

BMW M235i

*Provisional figures

BMW 218d*
Power/torque: 105kW @ 4000rpm / 320Nm @ 1750–2750rpm
Engine: 1995cc four cylinder diesel
0–100km/h: 8.9s (auto)
*Provisional figures

Like us you’re probably most interested in the M235i. Until the M2 arrives, it is the closest thing we’ve got to a replacement for the much loved 1 Series M Coupe after all. So you’ll be pleased to know, among its kit bag of M Performance Automobile tricks, it gets a proper slippery diff. BMW says, “the mechanical rear axle differential system optimises traction in suitably dynamic driving situations.”

You can read more about the M235i and the full 2 Series range after the break.

Another naughty look at the BMW M235i

BMW M235i

Today is the official launch date of information for the new BMW 2 Series. Already, we’re up to our third round of leaked images after shots of the M235i emerged from a BMW dealer presentation and the 220d was shown to the world ahead of schedule by AutoBild.

And let’s not forget, technical specs revealing the F22 M235i will have 5kW more than the M135i hatch were leaked a couple of weeks ago. Details for the 220i and 220d were also shown at the time.

Now, we’re looking at what’s certain to be just a handful of the photos of the M235i which BMW will release later today. So there’s not really a lot left for the BMW marketing department to do. But when they do reveal all we’ll bring you plenty of 2000px goodness and all the press guff we can get our hands on.

Oh yeah, the car itself, we reckon this new M235i coupé looks pretty good. We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.

Here’s another BMW 2 Series leak

BMW 220d

German title Autobild has likely got itself in BMW’s bad books by revealing this 220d ahead of tomorrow’s official launch. It follows leaked pics of the M235i revealed after a dealer presentation earlier this week.

There was a video showcasing the 220d, which these still have been taken from, but it has since been removed. But the internet doesn’t forget what the eyes have seen and thanks to 2addicts we can show you what you may have missed.

In this crappy light gold paint the F22 2 Series doesn’t look its best. Which is a good thing, because overall BMW’s small coupé still looks quite good; although clearly better with the M Sport kit seen on the M235i. It helps restore faith in their design team, following the series of unfortunate events which delivered the F20 1 Series hatch.

BMW M235i coming your way today

BMW M235i

A series of leaked images showing a production-spec BMW M235i have been leaked via the 2addicts forum. The car’s full reveal is scheduled to take place this Friday.

Based on the generally awesome, albeit unfortunate looking, M135i the F22 coupé version, we’re sure you’ll agree, looks a whole lot better. We can’t wait to see the official images later this week.
