Here is a brief “lifestyle” story on car clubs, featuring clubMINI‘s Queensland chapter, among others.
Car clubs can be a lot of fun. You can learn a lot more about your car, and about yourself. You can become exposed to a whole new level of motoring enjoyment. You can improve your driving skills through better access to professional training. Car clubs can also be a great way to sample the world of motorsport at a relatively affordable level.

“Perhaps we thought that because we all had the same type of car we had a common bond, a platform on which lasting friendships could be built. Today I loathe, with a furious passion, all car clubs. The notion that you’re going to get on with someone because he also has a Mini is preposterous. Clubs are for people who can’t get friends in the conventional way. They’re for bores and murderers. ” – Jeremy Clarkson
Haha, yes, there is that. Which is why I said “can” and not “will”. 😛
Stubby is on to something however from my youth (when I was last in a car club) I have half a dozen life long friends – the others were tossers.
