VIDEO: Ferrari F70 spied on streets of Maranello

Ferrari F70 prototype

A Ferrari F70 prototype was recently filmed prowling the streets of Maranello. Sadly, there wasn’t much drama, just some tootling about town. As a result we can’t tell you much more than what we’ve already reported/speculated.

To recap, we’re expecting the F70 to be powered by a 7.3 litre V12. This will be complemented by a KERS unit, helping to push total power to, or perhaps even beyond, 900hp.

Epic power these days is the norm, it seems. Similarly, there’s a push from manufacturers to make their newest models lighter than the relative heavyweights they replace. In keeping, then, reports suggest the F70 could weigh as little as 1140kg.

Could swear the driver is the guy holding the camera.
Also looks like he nearly hit it up the back when he first started tailing it :/
That would have made a good youtube video… ‘Idiot crashes into Ferrari prototype’.

I made the movie while showing my brother around in Maranello for his first time. As we ended up at the back entrance of the factory the F70 returned and some minutes later left again. As a Ferrari-fan and a Ferrari 360 driver I was really thrilled to see this and we decided to follow the car if possible. Tony is right if he means to say that the F70 driver had seen me and was trying to get rid of me. So I had to brake firmer than normal with my Beamer, but I’m surely no idiot like he says. And furthermore, the pedestrian was in the complot to my opinion. You can see him with his cellphone and gesturing to the F70 and doing his best to keep me waiting for as long as possible. But there were never dangerous situations for anybody. And filming while driving is not forbidden, so…..??? Over 110,000 viewers later I think I had the first scoop in my life………and I’m happy!

Don’t mind the comments Erik, I’d have been filming an F70 while driving too if the opportunity presented itself!

Good work on the clip and thanks for sharing.
