The track-only version of the LaFerrari, the LaFerrari XX, was seen lapping Monza recently. Thankfully, YouTube user NM2255 was on hand to record the action.
We’re sure you’ll agree the LaFerarri XX sounds awesome. What you won’t expect to see is the car’s magic bendy wheels, as shown above. The remarkable thing is, when that rear wheel bends like that the driver just plants his right foot and powers away as if nothing ever happened.
You’ll get to see if for yourself a bit after the two minute mark in the video below.

Sounds awesome, but the way the wheel flails about in the slo-mo suggests something broke surely ?
Yes, I agree, it does appear as something broke, which makes it so odd that the driver just continued on his merry way! Surely the drive to the rear wheels would have been affected, thus impeding his progress???
It did break. The guy who shot the video mention it on his youtube channel. After that failure the car never did another lap he said. Initially I thought he just continues too and thought it must be some trick new 4WS they are testing, but it was as appeared, a failure.
Fantastic sound though. Sounds better than the current crop of F1 cars that’s for sure.
Thanks for the follow up Tom.
