A quick shout out to Holden for going to the trouble of sending their VF Commodore ute to the Nürburgring for final chassis tuning ahead of its imminent release. Of course, with the car being so close to market launch you’d expect there won’t be too many opportunities to tweak the set up in any meaningful way.
Hey, you don’t think this was a marketing exercise by Holden just chasing a few clicks and publicity do you? No, they wouldn’t do that, there must be more to it than that.

Marketing excercise? You are a cynic Liam! I happened to see the same photo elsewhere where the number plate wasn’t covered., and the number plate is “VF UTE”. Now that does smell a bit of the marketing department at work!
Seriously the whole thing is probably a bit of both. High speed suspension testing etc combined with a great photo opportunity. Good on them. Wonder if it was faster than the M3 ute?
Liam, why don’t you write to Holden to ask? My little boy and I rode past HQ earlier this morning and it for me thinking whether it was indeed a marketing exercise.
Really looking forward to this brand vanishing from the face of the earth.
A bit harsh John? Alas, I can see a day where there will be no Holden.
Let’s just hope they spent some time studying curb design and driveway entries in Australia and didn’t just waste their entire development budget going for a few laps around the ring. The ground clearance on the front of my VE ute was hopeless. Almost every driveway or car park entry left its mark on the painted underside of the bumper (no sacrificial rubber there folks – there wasn’t enough room!)
JOHN
if the brand disappears like you wish where are the employes going to go ?????
There is more than one photo… or maybe it’s just photo shopped… anyway the other photo has a Chev badge on it LOL
Marketing exercise. I was right! 😉
[…] we first saw pics of the Holden VF ute circulating at the Nürbugring we sensed marketing gimmick. And it turns out we were right. With the VF SSV Redline ute Holden is […]
