Volkswagen Australia caps service costs

Volkswagen Australia capped price servicing

Volkswagen Australia has announced a capped price servicing scheme for all of its passenger vehicles. The scheme applies to all new vehicles sold since the start of this year.

A capped scheme was first introduced to the local market by Volkswagen when it launched the up! late last year. Australian pricing for the Beetle also listed a capped price servicing schedule.

The program covers the first six years or 90,000km of vehicle ownership (whichever comes first) and you can check on the costs of your car by using the Volkswagen Australia website.

Capped Price Servicing to become standard equipment on all Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles

April 2 2013 – Volkswagen is pleased to announce the roll-out of its highly competitive Capped Price Service Program across the entire Passenger Vehicle range with effect from 28 March 2013.

The program was first introduced on the up! in October last year and this is the next step for Volkswagen as it reinforces its position in the aftersales segment.

Encompassing a total of six years or 90,000km (whichever comes first), the Volkswagen Capped Price Service Program features one of the longest coverage periods in the market.

A scheduled service in the Volkswagen Capped Price Service Program includes the regular replacement of oil filters, engine oil and sump plug washer at each service interval, as well as the standard replacement of the air filter (at 45,000 and 90,000 km) and spark plugs (every 60,000km).

The Volkswagen Capped Price Service Program, together with a competitive Volkswagen Warranty and Volkswagen Roadside Assist, provides an extremely comprehensive package and offers customers piece of mind when purchasing a Volkswagen.

Capped Price Servicing will apply to all Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles sold through the Australian Volkswagen Dealer Network from 1 January 2013. The program will also apply to up! sold since 6 October 2012, The Beetle vehicles sold since 23 February 2013 and will also include the Golf 7 once on sale from 27 April 2013.

but we strongly recommend you also have a aircon system cleaned, brake fluid flush and the upper throttle body carbon clean…

@mark
is it every service ???
why its not included as part of standard maintenance??
thanks

btw on website they advising to change the break fluid every 2 years at extra cost

i’m taking the piss. dealerships love to tack on stupid tasks that are additional to the service requirements then charge exorbitant prices. like $150 to rotate the tyres

Someone needs to educate VW Australia on what cap price servicing means. It doesn’t mean we will rip you off less.

$409.00 $409.00 $507.00 $1091.00 $409.00 $550.00 doesn’t look like a cap there. It should be exactly the same price for every service like Toyota does.

Also timing belt at 60,000 k’s? F-me-dead. When will VW build some reliable engines? It’s 2013 for Gods sake! Either that or switch to timing chains like everyone else has.

An engine that can’t get at least 100,000 k’s minimum out of a timing belt is a big FAIL. Gee some peole never ever changed their timing belts on 4 cylinder Toyota’s from the 80’s even after 120,000 k’s and never had one snap.

Yep $409 to change your oil (if they even bother to do that) is real cheap NOT!!!

VW Australia is a FAIL and will always be a FAIL in this country because the cafe late crowd who think their cool will always be ripped a new one by VW for a mediocre product that is always years late from original release.

What about the Caddy & Caddy maxi range 5 & 7 seater versions are these not passenger vans with running gear from the golf ? Wait and see on that hey VW Australia.
