We love Porsche. We love the new Cayman. This, though; this Follow the code of the curve video is shit. It’s a shame, too, because Porsche usually nail their marketing by being concise and without letting the minutiae of life get in the way. But not this time.

Agreed. And for such an epic drivers car…
Shame.
The curve thing is a bit far-fetched, I agree. I’d never buy a Cayman, but I like the vibe of the video. Life educates you not to get too excited about anything, and they try to sell the idea to us that allowing yourself to get excited is what life’s all about. Seems like they did a market study and found out that the target audience for this message is the consumer group they’re missing out on most. Nevertheless, if I see a Porsche, I still think there’s probably someone inside it whose life isn’t too exciting (apart from driving a Porsche, maybe).
I think I played the roll of the kid in the clip, I ended up buying the gen2 2010 CS. Their last promo was similar in subject but more reserved by nature.
Its a nice feeling stepping away from today’s “Corporate governed Nanny State” into a Cayman S.
I don’t entirely agree – I think the campaign message is on point. We all love the motorsport angle they usually invoke, but this theme makes sense…(except for the catch-phrase itself)…
It also makes sense that Porshe is expanding their model line, and I’d expect their marketing campaigns would broaden as well to accommodate…
Anyway…I can relate to it…with life starting out exciting and fun and realising now that I’ve been suckered into an office job like every other chump!
The marketing strategy on this piece of shit is so transparent, it’s sloppy and lazy.
Sack the creative team that did this; they just added pictures and sounds to the brief. Absolutely no creative input or interpretation.
One of the worst, if not THE worst, Porsche ad I’ve ever witnessed.
