I would take the ST i don’t mind the styling of it.

No doubting Fords ability to make a well sorted hot hatch. And VW clearly has some work to do in the power stakes these days. But how has Ford messed up the visuals so badly. Previous gen Focus models have looked really good. This one is horrid!
As I said – The MKVII Golf hasn’t been compared and no doubt it won’t be… Because it will be better…
So I can get a car that looks MUCH better but doesn’t QUITE perform as well according to people that are on Ford’s payroll? Yeah I’ll take the GTi.
