Fresh from its public debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show we bring you a series of videos showcasing the new Porsche Boxster. We start above with an official clip featuring Achim Stejskal, Director of the Porsche Museum, who explains a bit about the history of Porsche roadsters and its relevance to the 981 Boxster.
After the break there’s another promo clip before adding two videos from the Geneva stand. We’re big fans of the new Boxster here at AUSmotive, we reckon it looks great, it’s a bit lighter, has a wider track and can lap the Nürburgring in less than 8 minutes. We reckon those facts and these videos will help you get on board too.

*We’re not sure where this guy got the 4.7s number for the Boxster S 0-100 time. The Porsche press release states 5.0 seconds.

Lima, the 4.7s reference is 0-60mph, not 0-100kmh. In any case, wouldn’t PDK with sports chrono/launch control be faster than 5.0?
Yeah I would have thought so too, but this is what the relevant bit from the original press release says:
“Both models feature a manual six-speed gearbox as standard with the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) available as an option. Both sports cars achieve their best fuel consumption and acceleration performance with the PDK. The Porsche Boxster’s fuel consumption with PDK is 7.7 l/100 km and 8.0 l/100 km for the Boxster S. With gear changes without interruption to the power flow, the Boxster sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, the Boxster S in 5.0 seconds.”
so the manual wastes 50 cents more fuel per 100km over the pdk?
i’ll take the manual, please!
the ass on this car is beautiful.
also, i think that the modernity of the interior suits this car much more than it does the 991.
it’s progressive future/retro is cool, whereas the 991 should have stayed more traditional. imo.
