Renault is shouting from the rooftops about its new Nürburgring record for front-wheel drive vechicles. The new mark is 8:07.97 and was set by development driver Laurent Hurgon at the wheel of the latest hot Megane, the RS 265 Trophy. Take that BMW!

The video of the lap around the Ring in the RS265 is very impressive. Better than the Audi TT RS and BMW 1M. It would be marvelous if Renault Australia is able to sell this vehicle here.

That is staggering. A fwd car killing some killer rwd and awd performance cars. The turbo hot hatch has come of age. Shame about the polarising looks, though…
