Here at AUSmotive we like to keep you up to date with the Australian MINI Challenge series. Now, with these videos you can imagine what the category would have been like back in the 1960s. There are two clips for you to enjoy. Both were filmed at this year’s Goodwood Revival held in late September.
Above you can see a highlights package from ITV where the racing is close, spectacular and the cars are really flying around the track.
Below, you can see in car footage from car #43. It makes for fascinating viewing, too, thanks to the Racelogic VBOX setup showing telemetry from the car’s progress around the circuit.
Enjoy!

This reminds me of a funny thing I saw recently… when I got my car when I was 18, I used a mechanic to do all the servicing… anyway, he was a Mini racer and loved his Cooper S… when I got my MINI, he kinda shunned me and there was a sticker on the back of his race car along the lines of “It’s a Mini, not MINI” or similar… he gave me a bit of lip about driving a BMW when I saw him. Well recently I saw him driving in a new Cooper S JCW and I waved to him and laughed…
Did he also drive his into the forest?
The way those guys were sliding around was fantastic! It really is like go-kart racing with those little minis! Thumbs up from me. There should be a racing series like this here.
Also spotted another video of the same race with in-car footage.
