Audi A3 sedan

The Audi A3 Sedan will launch nationally at the end of the month. But if you’re keen to see one a bit sooner than that you’re in luck, because it will be on display at the Sydney Festival (9–26 January).

On show in the Fetsival Village in Sydney’s Hyde Park, the A3 Sedan display will feature artwork by UK airbrush artist DC Willans and promises to be all very hip and sophisticated. There’s prizes to be won as well, which you can read about in the press release after the break.

Also, while we were off enjoying Christmas Audi Australia released its manufacturer’s list pricing for the A3 Sedan:

Attraction specification level
A3 sedan 1.4 TFSI COD S tronic (103kW/250Nm) – $39,800

Ambition specification level
A3 sedan 1.8 TFSI S tronic (132kW/250Nm) – $44,800
A3 sedan 2.0 TDI S tronic (110kW/320Nm) – $44,800
A3 sedan 1.8 TFSI quattro S tronic (132kW/250Nm) – $47,800

If you’d prefer the faster S3 sedan then you won’t have long to wait. It should be in the country hot on the heels of the A3 sedan, with prices expected to be $1500–2000 more than the S3 Sportback.

  • The all-new A3 Sedan will be displayed at the Festival Village in Hyde Park from the 9 – 26 January to celebrate the car’s Australian launch

Sydney, 6 January 2014: Luxury car maker, Audi, is celebrating 2014 with a brand new model as well as a new arts partnership. January 2014 will see Audi launch the all-new A3 Sedan and partner with the Sydney Festival where the new car will be turned into a work of art.

The interactive display will be held at the Festival Village in Hyde Park from the 9 – 26 of January. Here the unique airbrush artist, Daniel Christopher Willians (D C Willans) will take centre stage as the artist creates a modern masterpiece incorporating the A3 Sedan.

D C Willans has a passion for creating art that occupies and thrills all the senses of the audience. His love of murals, in particular of the Australian landscape, is the perfect addition to the beach feel of the Festival Village. The creation of the art will provide a visual spectacle for Sydney Festival guests as the A3 Sedan provides the perfect canvas for the airbrush technique.

Festival goers that take up the opportunity to experience the A3 Sedan and its key features at Festival Village will also have the chance to win some great artistic prizes. Each day, Audi will be giving away two double passes to a Sydney Festival performance at either the Spiegeltent or Ronaldo venue. There will also be a major prize of a trip for two to the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart, Tasmania. The trip includes two nights’ accommodation at the MONA pavilions, private tour passes around MONA and the Moorilla winery, dinner for two at The Source restaurant and a two-day loan of the brand-new Audi A3 Sedan.

Audi has already announced that the A3 Sedan will be priced attractively from $39,800. The sedan will add a new dimension to the award-winning A3 range with the Sportback being named Australia’s Best Small Car over $35,000 for 2013.

As part of the sponsorship, the Sydney Festival will also receive four Audi vehicles to use across the various event locations. Audi is a long-time supporter of the arts and culture in Australia, and around the globe, as a way of giving back to the community.

Audi Australia’s Managing Director, Andrew Doyle, said that the company is very happy to provide support to such an innovative and creative event as the company’s way of giving back to the New South Wales community.

“Our brand continues to show strong growth in New South Wales as a result of the direct support of buyers in the state. We are very happy to offer something in return which benefits the whole community and reflects the Audi brand’s values,” Mr Doyle said.

“The all-new A3 Sedan is the perfect fit for the Sydney Festival. It’s in a unique position in its segment thanks to its sophisticated styling, sporty performance and progressive technology. We are very confident that people will be fascinated by the presence of this exciting new model.”

The Audi A3 Sedan will be in dealerships nationally at the end of January 2014.

Australia, 23 December 2013: Audi Australia Pty Ltd is gearing up for the January 2014 launch of the all-new Audi A3 Sedan. This stylish Sedan, the first of its kind for Audi, features a potent combination of powerful performance, equipment from the luxury class, efficient technology and outstanding quality, from just $39,800 MLP.

Audi Australia’s Managing Director, Andrew Doyle, said the new A3 Sedan offers enormous growth opportunities for Audi in the compact premium segment.

“The all-new A3 Sedan is impressive. It looks powerful on the road, yet sips fuel frugally, it offers luxury appointments inside and out, yet it is priced very attractively. It’s in a unique position in its segment, and we are very confident that buyers will respond very positively when this newest A3 variant arrives next month,” said Mr Doyle.

[…] at the end of this month. But it will be on display at the Sydney Festival from 9 January: AUSmotive.com » Want to see the Audi A3 Sedan for yourself? I reckon the S3 sedan will be around before […]

So the top of the range A3 has more power, four wheel drive and $2k cheaper than the CLA 200. Why does the CLA 200 has a one year waiting list.

Because it doesn’t look like and A3?

Personally I’d buy the Audi, in S3 sedan form, if I was choosing on looks but I guess the Merc has its appeal too.
