You’re looking at the BMW X4 concept, which has been leaked ahead of Auto Shanghai (21–29 April). And, don’t tell anyone, but we think it looks quite nice.
Early last year BMW officially announced it would build the X4 at its Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. Last April a rendering emerged that made us question our preconceived idea that the X4 would be cabbage. Now this!
Five images showing the exterior of the X4 which is very well proportioned, certainly miles ahead of the cumbersome X6, and that front grille works much better than the standard 3 Series saloon. The double crease line along the side of the car works well, it fits in with BMW’s visual language, but speaks on it own as well.
Clearly, the X4 looks a lot better than the 3 Series GT. Of that, there is no doubt.
We are a little ashamed to admit it, but this X4 concept looks great! It’s practical, looks good and will drive very well. Really, what’s not to like?
