After last weekend’s round at Sydney Motorsport Park the Australian GT season is enjoying a mid-season break. The emerging category returns in 63 days at Phillip Island (21–23 September).
Erebus Racing is fast making a name for itself as one of the GT Championship’s premier teams. Indeed, last weekend’s round victory gave Peter Hackett and his slick looking Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 the series lead in the championship.
The team and their distinctive ‘Gullwings’ certainly created a lot of attention at the Bathurst 12 Hour this year as well. To help you find out more about the team they’ve produced a new video titled ‘The Win’, which you can see after the break.
Erebus Racing launches first video – The Win
Leading AMG Customer Sports team, Erebus Racing has launched its first video focusing on the team’s SLS AMG GT3 program, entitled ‘The Win’.
Produced and directed by BAM Vision, ‘The Win’ encapsulates the emotion and team spirit that exists within Erebus Racing and follows every move of the team and it’s driver, Peter Hackett as it leads up to the team’s first double victory at Winton Motor Raceway.
“We had the goal of developing Erebus Racing into being the best team in this form of racing not just in Australia, but in the world,” Hackett explained.
“We’re immensely proud of the brand that we’re building and it is growing on an almost daily basis.
“We want to do things differently, we want to challenge motor racing convention and give fans access to areas that traditionally they cannot, whilst developing a premium brand.
“Ultimately, we want every single person that comes into contact with Erebus Racing the opportunity to share in the emotion that we feel.
“Our team wins together, we lose together but most of all, we fight together and attempt to do it while having fun and being there for one another.”
Erebus Racing was the first team outside Europe to acquire one of the spectacular 563 horsepower, SLS AMG GT3 Customer Sports ‘Gullwings’.
In 2011, the now familiar chrome wrap on the car saw Erebus Racing awarded the honour of ‘The Most Beautiful Car’ at the AMG Customer Sports Awards in Germany.
Erebus Racing has finished every event it has contested with at least one car on the podium in one of the weekend’s races.
Peter Hackett – who heads up the Mercedes-AMG Driver Academy in Asia-Pacific – currently leads the Australian GT Championship for Erebus Racing after four of its seven rounds.
