Alfa Romeo 4C expected in Australia by 2014

The stunning Alfa Romeo 4C will be on sale in Australia by 2014 according to a report published by GoAuto.

Currently on show in Frankfurt in a spectacular ‘fluid metal’ body colour, the 4C has been confirmed for RHD production by Alfa Romeo CEO Harald Wester.

“Alfa Romeo is going to be present in all markets in the world. If there’s enough interest in this kind of special-edition supercar it will be either left or right-hand drive, but there will definitely be a right-hand drive,” he told journalists in Frankfurt.

Neville Crichton, Ateco Automotive Governing Director, spoke to Australian journalists in Frankfurt and said he expects the 4C to be on sale down under by 2014.

It’s understood the 200hp 850kg sportscar will be a replacement for the Brera. If the 4C can be positioned at the same pricepoint of around $65,000 then Alfa Romeo will likely have a worldwide phenomenon on their hands. We reckon they may well struggle to meet demand.

im sort of wondering how an 850kg car will ever be a ‘replacement’ for the overweight barge that is the Brera.

Alfa is so ashamed of the weight of the brera that they dont list it on the specifications document. The owners manual tells me that the Brera Spider Q4 weighs just under 2000 kilograms.

Its good to see a German running Alfa Romeo – now if only we can get it sold from out of FIATs grubby paws and into a german owner so that design, reliability, quality and sales can flourish!

Around $65K!!!! I think I have the replacement of my MK6 GTI in my sights!!!

Sexy machine, and if they price it well, I will defiantly give Alfa my hard earned money.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but it isn’t going to be $65k! It has a CF tub chassis out of the KTM and that isn’t cheap to make!
