The Top Gear lads are at it again trekking across the globe with their live show. Looks like this year you’ll be getting 33% more than last time around with all three presenters (plus The Stig) joining the crew. (Note: Sydney shows are listed as having Jeremy, James and a third presenter yet to be announced—one of the Aussie crew, I suppose.)
The Australian shows take place in Sydney once again, from 11-14 February 2010.
The 2009 show was good in parts, and not so good in others. With any luck they’ll have ironed out the rough edges and be back with an improved format. Oh, let’s hope they have real Ferraris this time, as well.
If you reckon you could do a better job, then make sure you watch the YouTube clip after the jump. You just never know your luck!
TOP GEAR LIVE TAKES OFF ON WORLD TOUR
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May officially launched this year’s Top Gear Live World Tour today, 25th September 2009, from London’s Royal Geographical Society (RGS) in true Phileas Fogg-style suspended below a hot air balloon.
Famous for their legendary globe-trotting antics, the three presenters took inspiration from some of the world’s most famous explorers including Dr David Livingstone, Sir Ernest Shackleton, Robert Falcon Scott (Scott of the Antarctic) and Sir Edmund Hillary.
The Top Gear Live World Tour will see Jezza, Hamster and Captain Slow entertain massive audiences in eight worldwide cities including Sydney, Auckland, Cape Town and Hong Kong. The show will kick off with two UK destinations – London and Birmingham – as a part of MPH The Prestige & Performance Motor Show.
On the UK legs of the Tour – London’s Earls Court (5-8 November) and Birmingham’s NEC (12-15 November), more than 95,000 car fans can watch the presenters unleash automotive mayhem, take on crazy challenges, preside over breathtaking stunts and engage in hilarious banter during each 75-minute show. Even the Stig will be there to showcase his skills and fearless driving style.
This year MPH The Prestige & Performance Motor Show is set to be home to UK debuts from Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Pagani, Peugeot, Citroen and Volvo. Visitors to the show will be the first in the country to see these latest models alongside 300 of the fastest and most prestigious cars on the planet from manufacturers including Bentley, Bugatti, Caparo, Ferrari, Jaguar, Koenigsegg, Lotus, Maserati, McLaren, Nissan, Porsche, Rolls-Royce and Spyker.
In a brand new element, MPH will host a ‘start up area’ in London where eight of the most sublime supercars will mesmerise crowds by starting and revving their engines.
Sliver, Gold and Platinum tickets for MPH The Prestige and Performance Motor Show and the chance to watch Jeremy, Richard and James live on stage are selling fast.
