Word on the streets says the worst of the GFC is over and I reckon the organisers of the Bathurst 12 hour hope that news is on the money. They’re searching for a new naming rights sponsor and they say they’ve got a great product to offer.
Event Promoter James O’Brien said, “The package offers exceptional brand impact domestically and brand awareness internationally. A broad range of benefits are included in the package including some genuine ‘money can’t buy experiences’ essentially offering a unique marketing solution.”
The 2010 race will be held from 12-14 February. National TV coverage will be provided by Channel 7 with a three hour post-race broadcast. Replays will be available across Australia via Fox Sports. The highlights package will also be sent across the ditch to New Zealand, as well as reaching European and North American audiences.

Naming Rights Opportunity for Bathurst 12 Hour
Promoters of the Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro are offering a naming rights partnership opportunity for the Event for 2010 and beyond. The race, to be held over the weekend of February 12-14, will be the first major domestic motor race for the year and has now grown into a significant event on the Australian motor racing calendar.
“The initial 3 year agreement with WPS Financial Services has now expired, and we are actively seeking a new partner who can move forward and grow with the Event as it matures over the next 3 years,†explained Event Promoter James O’Brien.
“The package offers exceptional brand impact domestically and brand awareness internationally. A broad range of benefits are included in the package including some genuine ‘money can’t buy experiences’ essentially offering a unique marketing solution.â€
The 2010 Event will be televised by the Seven Network in a 3 hour post produced special with replays nationally on Fox Sports, and International coverage into New Zealand, Europe and North America.
The Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro is now in its 4th year, and has grown to become the premier production based touring car event in the country. Forty eight cars started the 2009 Race which saw a battle for outright honours between Mitsubishi, Subaru, BMW, Ford and Holden. Ten manufacturers and twenty five different models were represented in the endurance event, which also included an alternative energy class for diesel and hybrid vehicles.
“Our overall philosophy is to deliver a production based endurance race in a class structure which is representative of the mass road going market, including a class for alternative fuel.†O’Brien said. “With classes for high performance rear wheel drive, high performance all wheel drive, performance , production sport, production small, plus alternative energy – the race is not just a battle for outright honours, with class wins just as important.â€
Steven Johnson, Russell Ingall, John Bowe, Tony Longhurst, Brad Jones, Glenn Seton, Jason Bargwanna, Neil Crompton, Grant Denyer, Damien White, Paul Morris, Craig Baird, Nathan Pretty and Andrew Jones are just some of the established drivers that competed in the 2009 Race, which was ultimately won by Damien White, Rod Salmon and Tony Longhurst in a Mitsubishi Evo X.
